Itinerary
Day 1, Bukhara – Merv (Mary)
- Meeting at the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan border at the town of Farab.
- Head to Turkmenabat city and have lunch at a restaurant.
- Go towards Merv, ancient city ruins. (220km, 4hrs).
- Reach the Ancient Merv site and start with sightseeing. (2hrs).
- Have lunch at a restaurant.
- Head to the Mary city, the capital city of the region, (30min).
- Sightseeing in the Mary city and dinner at a restaurant.
- Overnight in the Mary city.
Day 2, Mary – Ashgabat
- 08:00, Have breakfast and head towards Ashgabat. Along the way, stop at several historical sites, including the ruins of Anau with the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque.
- 14:00, Arrive to Ashgabat and have lunch at a restaurant.
- 15:00, Start the sightseeing tour in Ashgabat.
- 20:00 Check in a hotel.
- 21:00 Dinner at a restaurant.
- Overnight in the Ashgabat city.
Day 3, Ashgabat – Darvaza
- 08:00, After the breakfast start with another sightseeing tour of Ashgabat.
- 13:00 Lunch at a restaurant.
- 15:00 Head towards Darvaza Gas crater, also called “Gates to Hell”.
- 20:00 Reach the Crater of darvaza, and have some walking around the Crater.
- 21:00 Lunch at the crater, prepared on site.
- 22:00 Another free time around Darvaza.
- Overnight at Darvaza in tents.
Day 4, Darvaza – Ashgabat
- 07:00 Breakfast and head towards Ashgabat. We will visit two another craters and stop by a village for photography.
- 12:00 Reach Ashgabat and have lunch at a restaurant.
- 14:00 Have another sightseeing tour in Ashgabat.
- 19:00 Check in a hotel.
- 20:00 Dinner at a restaurant.
- Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 5, Ashgabat – Yangikala – Turkmenbashi
- 07:00 Breakfast and head towards Yangikala canyons. On the way we will see Kow-Ata cave with underground lake and Nokhur mountain village.
- Have a lunch on the way.
- 15:00 Reach Yangikala Canyons and spend 2 hours around there.
- 17:00 Depart towards Turkmenbashi. (150km, 3hrs).
- 20:00 We get to the city of Turkmenbashi, located on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Have a dinner at a restaurant.
- 22:00 Check in a hotel.
- Overnight in the city of Turkmenbashi.
Day 6, Turkmenbashi – Baku
- 08:00 After the breakfast head towards the sea port, which is a large and relatively new port on the Caspian Sea.
